Summer Purchase

I went on a little shopping trip to the lovely Roco in Holywood. Admired their truly gorgeous floral shop front and then made two purchases. One of which was this beautiful broderie white cotton top by Part Two. I know I will wear this to all summer long!

Holidays Outfits

It's not often that I blow my own trumpet but one thing I am great at is packing light for a holiday!

A couple of pairs of shorts, 2 dresses, 5 tops, a couple of light shirts, a few pairs of shoes and a hat and I am done. Making sure all my separates work with each other are key. Shirts double as cover ups on the beach as well as protecting shoulders on hot days and great for a bit of warmth on breezy evenings.

Below are a few outfit snaps of what I brought with me, I hope it's of interest ☺

Outfit
Hat - H&M
Top - New Look
Shirt - Cotton, palm trees from Zara
Shorts - Mom fit Topshop
Trainers - Grey Suede Superga

Outfit
Scalloped Top - And Other Stories
Shorts - White Mom Shorts New Look
Sandals - Topshop Leopard Sandals
Hat - H&M
Outfit
Dress - Zara
Flip flops - havianas
Bag - Lily and Lionel from Roco Boutique, Holywood

Outfit
Hat - H&M
Dress - Topshop
Trainers - Superga

As you can see, evening outfits don't happen on our holidays! Dinner is eaten at 5:30pm often while the Spanish polish off their lunch and our daughter is down to sleep at 7:30pm so that we can enjoy a bit of quiet time together on our balcony. No complaints here!

I hope if your heading away to sunny climes this is of some help. Most stock is current and I highly recommend those 2 dresses!

Semi Permanent Brows at Skin Medi Spa

I have been toying with the idea of getting my eyebrows done for years now but I finally decided to go for it and I took the leap last week.

My eyebrows weren't terrible to begin with, they were just fairly patchy in places, a little sparse at the start and had no real arch due to over zealous plucking as a teenager.

Part of my daily make up routine would be spent filling them in pretty badly with a pencil and I was really getting rather bored of doing it. My eyebrows to me were as important as applying foundation or mascara.  Without that bit of pencil I just felt like my face lacked any real definition.

I went for a consultation with Judith of Skin Medi Spa which is off the Lisburn Road a few weeks ago, this involved a chat about what the process entails, what I wanted the end result to look like and a patch test. An appointment was duly made and I arrived excitedly but with some intrepidition last Wednesday.

I was there for 2 1/2 hours.  Quite a bit of that time was spent filling in my eyebrows before the tattooing began to ensure that I was getting the perfect shape that I was happy with.

Honestly I am so pleased with them, I really feel that for me it was money well spent.  I love not having to touch them in the morning and I feel they improve my look so much, I totally feel like a more polished version of myself!

BEFORE

AFTER

Excuse the after photo as it was directly after I got them done so all my make up had come off!

If your considering it I would totally egg you on!  For me being a busy mum it was so worthwhile to save me from doing them in the morning plus I personally could never achieve the shape that I have now.

Now I am considering eyeliner?!  I possibly have got the bug!

Thanks for reading.

January

Who else is fed up with winter coldness, winter greyness and winter wardrobes?  I am so ready for the days to start lengthening, more outside time and less layers. Roll on Spring!

For us January has been a busy month. It has seen its challenges with me trying to get my groove back at work after a change in the area I cover, there has been a lovely night out with my neighbours and friends, a holiday has been booked, building work on our home is being considered and my daughter turned 2! I can barely believe that bit as the last year has flown in. We had a small family celebration for her at the house which she loved, presents were opened and candles were blown out, what more could a girl wish for.

When I was preparing for my night out last weekend I realised that I haven't ever posted about the fake tan I have been using very regularly and when I say very regularly I mean every week.  This is unusual for me as before I got this self tanner I maybe tanned once a month. Tan was only applied when I was feeling extra specially pasty and unattractive. I hated the whole process of standing shivering in the bathroom, applying it carefully then feeling sticky and smelly for the entire evening and having to change the bedding the following day.  What a carry on!

I have been using this Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer for a number of months now and I swear I can get the whole thing done and dusted in 3 minutes (I timed it!) with no drying time, as true to what it says on the bottle it is a spray on dry mist. I am not saying this is fool proof as you do get the odd problem area but no more than what I did with my previous fake tan and I can obviously get it done so quickly and so easily that I do it far more regularly which is just great. If your interested it is £11.69 from Boots here.

As I mentioned before I am heartily fed up with my winter wardrobe which has got me thinking about what my most worn items have been over the last few months and what sort of items I should be looking to pick up for Spring/Summer.  I tend to feel the cold very easily so layers are key. Lately I have been wearing shirts and long sleeved tops under jumpers and my Hugo denim shirt is worn once a week every week! I layer it under sweaters and over stretchy v neck tops, it was expensive but I have most definitely got my money worth out of it. Something similar would be good along with thick cardigans that can replace the winter coats I am oh so fed up with! Both things are currently on my list.

Outfit
Coat - Reiss
Shirt - Hugo Boss from Roco Boutique Holywood
Scarf - Cocomenthe (years old) from Roco Boutique Holywood
Jeans - All Saints
Boots - Zara
Bag - Tory Burch

Even that photo of me in my winter coat makes me do an eye roll!  Very tired of winter gear! By the way if you are looking for a pair of over the knee boots the ones that I am wearing in the photo were a bargain £45. Great if you are fancying a pair of boots but are not wanting to commit to anything expensive since we are now in the tail end of winter. I think these exact ones I am wearing are sold out but I did see a very similar pair with a slighly higher heel in the Zara store in Belfast a couple of weeks ago for the same price.

Farewell November

Long time no blog eh? I have been quiet for some time due to busy times at work and lots of illness in our household.  Annoyingly we have not had a period at all this month when we have all been healthy!

Stella was hit by a stomach bug, the flu then a virus. Then my husband and I both had a ghastly stomach bug.  It seems from listening to my friends with children that everybody has something at the moment and actually looking back at this time last year we were in exactly the same position.

Our weekends have revolved around the sofa, comfortable clothes, the washing machine churning endlessly and far too much Peppa Pig.

To top it all off last week I left the house to visit my local Mums and Tots group and hit my car off a bollard in the car park. Ouch.

Really I know that I shouldn't have been driving at all with no food in my stomach and feeling ever so horrendous but because I was feeling soooo horrible I thought it would be a good idea to get out of the house and let Stella play with some other children in the hopes that I could get sat down for a bit.....

Clearly that didn't work out and it certainly made for one highly expensive never mind embarrassing (lots of tears) trip out.  After pranging my car I was in no mood for playtime so it was a quick turn around back home to lick my wounds!

But with every cloud there is always a silver lining and I received some really kind messages from the girls at my group that most definitely helped me feel that bit better.

Following that car mishap another one occurred when a transit van decided to force me onto a grassy verge and remove and destroy my entire wing mirror. 😱

Today my car is basically just sat in bits in my driveway and after getting a terrifying quote for the work that needs done to it it might well just stay that way.

So yes....December!  Hurrah! This month will be much better of that I am sure.

Below is a photo of me (looking EXHAUSTED, those eye bags!) wearing a beautiful Vivienne Westwood scarf that I picked up from Roco Boutique.  Isn't it a stunner?  Plus the bonus is its very warm.

Outfit
Scarf - Vivienne Westwood at Roco Boutique Holywood
Coat - All Saints City Monument Coat
Jeans - All Saints Grace
Boots - Dune Trish Over the Knee Boots

Did anyone get anything from the Black Friday sales? I had been considering making a Mulberry bag purchase but sadly there were no discounts available. Instead I took advantage of the 30% off at All Saints and purchased a top and a couple of jumpers oh and a candle or 2 from Zara Home who do thee nicest candles (as good as Jo Malone in my opinion but for half the price)

If your on the look out for a gorgeous scarf and hat then I have found a few nice options, I am currently trying to work out which I will be purchasing

L-R - John Lewis Studded Set - Mint Velvet Jewelled Neutral Hat
LK Bennett Cashmere Mink Pink Set - Ted Baker Bobble Hat
John Lewis Nordic Set - Ted Baker Pom Scarf

Isn't that LK Bennett hat and scarf beautiful?  Of course I am drawn to it as typically it is the most expensive but it is cashmere so possibly a nice investment buy?!
